La Crosse Technology WS-9009BK-IT-CBP Wireless Temperature Station Reviews
6 of 6 people found the following review helpful Nice compact unit, By Big Joe (LA, CA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: La Crosse Technology WS-9009BK-IT-CBP Wireless Temperature Station (Kitchen) I use one of these in my motor home. I start out by putting the outside sensor next to the base unit for a few hours to see if there is a difference in temperatures. In other units I have seen as many as 5 degrees of difference, in this unit there was only a decimal point of difference. I mounted the outside sensor in the shade but exposed to the outside air and it almost immediately registered both temperatures. All in all, this is an excellent unit. It is inexpensive, accurate and easy to use. It does exactly what I need it to do. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful Outdoor sensor died after 3 months, By This review is from: La Crosse Technology WS-9009BK-IT-CBP Wireless Temperature Station (Kitchen) Worked perfectly for exactly 3 months, then the external sensor failed. Changed both sets of batteries, cleaned the contacts, nothing. Inexpensive but not worth it. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful Unreliable reception, By MN911 "wnee10" (Minnesota, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: La Crosse Technology WS-9009BK-IT-CBP Wireless Temperature Station (Kitchen) I purchased this item and installed fresh batteries, carefully following the instructions to get everything started up in the right sequence. I got initial readings for both indoor & outdoor temperatures, and some subsequent updates while the receiver and transmitter were about 2 feet away from each other. But shortly after installing the transmitter outside (about 30 feet away), the receiver lost the signal and was not able to pick it up again. So I pulled all the batteries and did the whole startup sequence again. I got good outdoor readings for about half a day and now I'm getting nothing from the outdoor transmitter again. I've tried moving the receiver to just 10 feet away from the transmitter and it still isn't able to reacquire the signal. It simply isn't reasonable to have to keep resetting the receiver and transmitter with battery pulls. I was hopeful that the claimed 260 foot range would mean it could do at least 30-40 feet reliably, but it simply isn't performing... Read more

Taylor Digital Glass Scale 7553, Clear Reviews
12 of 14 people found the following review helpful Quality & Accurate, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Taylor Digital Glass Scale 7553, Clear (Health and Beauty) Scale is well-made and high quality. It is very accurate and agrees very well with the much more expensive scale at my gym. It weighs from 10 lbs to 330 lbs (or equivalent in kgs/stones), and needs at least 10 lbs to turn on and begin registering and showing the weight. It has a unit button on the bottom to switch from lbs->kgs->stones. It also has a 5-year manufacturer's warranty. It uses a CR2032 lithium battery which according to the manual has a long life with this scale and may only eventually need to be replaced if used in a heavy usage area such as a health club. It measures in 0.2 lb increments (or the equivalent in kgs/stones). The battery compartment uses a standard battery latch cover which is screwed in place by two small screws which means you need a small screw driver to initially set up the scale or to eventually replace the battery if it does eventually happen. Basically, you stand on the scale it turns on with a weight close to your actual weight... My weight changes in a few second I step on the scale. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful Taylor DIgital Glass Scale, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Taylor Digital Glass Scale 7553, Clear (Health and Beauty) Once I managed to extricate the plastic from the battery case--which resulted in a broken fingernail--it worked fine. However, the instructions that came with the scale are misleading: you can't open the battery case by pushing against the plastic tab (which when I did a little piece of it came off). You need to unscrew the screws that are holding it in place (thanks to Nathan Z's review for that information). It would have been nice if a small screwdriver that could open the case came with the scale as it's extremely difficult to extricate the protective plastic without opening the battery case. The scale itself is lovely: lightweight, accurate, and easy to read. However, because of the problems I had with it initially I was tempted to return it--until I read Nathan Z's review and then managed on my own to extricate the plastic from the battery case without opening it.

Salter 200 Academy Professional Mechanical Scale, White and Gray Reviews
140 of 141 people found the following review helpful He stepped on the scale--and got a weigh, By Justin Friedland (Pound Ridge, NY United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Salter 200 Academy Professional Mechanical Scale, White and Gray (Health and Beauty) All I want, when I step on the scale, is to get my weight, as accurately as possible. Don't need my body fat, don't need my bone density, don't want to have to put in batteries, don't need the day, date or my fortune, just my weight, within 1/2 a pound or so. Oh, and I have to be able to read the scale as well. This product does just that. That's all it does, but it does it very well. Thank you, Salter. 93 of 101 people found the following review helpful Good overall, but some shortcuts in materials, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Salter 200 Academy Professional Mechanical Scale, White and Gray (Health and Beauty) Despite a few shortcomings in the the materials used, I think this is a good scale. I think it weighs perfectly and consistently, with a smooth dial that doesnt bounce around. You can tell the mechanical parts are high quality, but its a shame the manufacturer made some shortcuts in the materials that were chosen. This is the same scale sold for much more at Restoration Hardware. Unfortunately, the box said "designed and engineered in England" and on a tiny sticker on the bottom, it said "made in China". Unfortunately, this is a trick a lot of manufacturers seem to be using these days. The large domed dial cover is made from plastic, not glass. Secondly, the gray non-slip surface was a light gray, textured sticker that seemed thin and had a few light ripples. It makes an otherwise nice looking scale look a little bit cheap; something that could have been easily avoided with a heavier rubber surface. There were a couple of voids on the metal under the gray... We have a digital scale in my house also and I would always be so frustrated with it because I could get on the scale get one number, step off and get on again a second later and get a completely different number. Our digital scale has all these fancy features like a body fat calculator etc. but it isn't helpful if you cannot get a consistent, accurate weight measurement. This scale however is extremely accurate, I consistently get the same number even when stepping on & off several times. It also looks great in my bathroom and is super easy to re-set if I ever have to move it around. You simply get it home, remove it from the box, set the dial to "0" and step on and off a few times to get it activated. It's so simple! It's also extremely durable. & I received it in two days with free shipping! I highly recommend this scale!
