It will be necessary to buy 4 AAA's to make this work (the product description at time of this review does not make this clear). This scale is less expensive than others with these features, even considering the added cost of batteries. If this scale lasts, it's worth 4 stars. Another brand, American Weigh, offers 10 year warranties with all it's scales, but their cheapest one with these features is about $46, and 5" more narrow.At under $20, many scales have only weight readings, none of the additional measurements and are smaller. The size is generous at 18.5" x 12" x 1". This is wider than standard 12" x 12", square scales and something to check when comparing models. It will weigh up to 440 lbs. (or 200 kgs.)
