I did not want anymore digital scales with fancy ways of weighing oneself. I just wanted a scale that easily pointed to my weight. This is a dandy little scale. First of all, I have a very small bathroom, and this scale just fits your feet and fits nicely in a small space. In fact, my mom, who also has small bathrooms, asked me to order her one. I know this scale is accurate as its weight matched half-pound per half-pound the scale at my doctor's office on the same day. I love my little scale and would recommend it to anyone who is sick of scales having whoops and hollers.

Received this item yesterday. I was a bit skeptical, but I measured out water in my regular glass measuring cup and then poured it into the Taylor Digital measuring cup and it was accurate. I repeated this experiment several times using different amounts of water. You do need to put it on the water mode. (Simple to do) Next, I put it on flour mode. I measured out one cup in a dry measuring cup. I tamped it down quite hard and it measured 1 1/8 cup on the digital scale. I thought "Oh NO!". But I realized I had tamped it down too much so I re-measured in the regular dry measuring cup and then dumped that in the digital and it measured exactly at 1 cup.
Just to be clear, I measured items first in regular dry and liquid measuring cups to just test the accuracy of this item. Now that I am satisfied that it is accurate, I will just measure only with this digital scale (not measuring in other cups first).

Based on some of the reviews I had read, I wondered if this cup was was really worth the purchase. When I saw one on sale locally, I decided to buy it combining my store coupon with the store sale price which made the purchase more affordable, since I had my doubts.
After unpacking then reading the instructions, the first thing I did was compare the dry measures with my current measuring cups. They were perfect. Then I compared liquids to my liquid measuring cups, ounce per ounce. Again the measurements were perfect. I would then measure suggested serving sizes from box foods that I would prepare, again the measures were accurate to the cup and ounce.
I found the more I used the cup, the more I liked it but I was still concerned about using the liquids with the electronic device being on the bottom on the cup. I found a way around that. I just put a quart size freezer bag inside the cup before I add the liquids. This keeps the interior dry and eliminates... Read more

I read about this cool new item just now on the market and it's so cool. It weights everything you put in it. I just got mine today and am stillplaying with it. You can use it as a basic scale too, not just for liquids. And easy to use too. I love the Baker's Conversion Chart included for all types of ingredients. No way will I go back to an old measuring cup. This is the digital scale that happens to be a measuring cup!

I got this scale just for the "upscale" look. It's sleek metal with glass. They state that the lithium battery lasts a long time, so we'll see. It does take four rotations of the `zeros' to fly by before your weight is shown (to the half pound). It looks great and it's cheap. It's thick glass, so if your weight shows more than you expected, you can toss this sucker across the room and it won't break!
UPDATE: Almost five years and it is still working on the same battery!

I've had this scale for over 4 years. It has moved with me three times. It looks great, and the glass design makes your bathroom look bigger because you can see through to the floor. It is a fabulous scale and very consistent. I don't notice any of the problems listed in the negative reviews and plan to buy one for my parents. I have noticed that it takes 1-2 extra tries when it's cold (below 50 degrees). My battery still works great after 4 years, and I use the scale 3-4 times a day. I love this scale!!

This scale is a joke. Thank you so much Consumer Reports for giving it a rave review. Don't believe it.
The way the scale works is pretty dubious in the first place. It sits on four rubber nubbies. The rear two do nothing (except they were different heights on mine and "rocked" miserably). The front two nubbies each have sensors in them. It's a bit like standing on a water bed and waiting for it to stop sloshing around. Apparently the two sensors never agree on what you weigh.
So you weigh either 185 or 246 or 213 or 197 or.....you get the idea.
