(Electronics) While the sleekness and beauty of the scale itself should inspire at least 2 stars, being priced at over $60 knocks it back down to a single star. BUYER BEWARE: as of Jan 2012, the iPhone app that works with the scale is attrocious (see iHealth Scale app reviews). In short, the app frequently does not connect with your iPhone automatically, requiring a manual Bluetooth connection each time you weigh in. Using the scale with more than one person is annoying, since the scale itself only captures weigh-ins, not separate users. If more than one person weighs in without having the phone app active and connected (through Bluetooth), the scale stores those weigh-ins. Sounds like a good thing - until when you go to upload multiple weigh-ins stored on the scale, and you at 140 pounds have someone else's 180 pound weigh-ins mixed in with yours. I get to track my weight and not have to mess with it. Some people I told about this said, "Why don't you just manually record your weight". I guess they are right, I was just impressed that there was a scale that had Bluetooth connectivity. In reality the scale functions as any digital scale would. It does look pretty sleek. Initial setup was not difficult, I just paired it with my phone. This is where the product sucks. Apparently every time I want to "easily" record my weight I have to manually go into my settings and pair my phone with the scale again. At first I thought, "there is no way this product is that poorly thought out". However after pouring over directions and poor reviews I see I am not alone in my disappointment. The process of manually pairing your phone every time you want the scale to record your... Read more |
